Caltrans plans major roadwork through Nov. 15

NORTH COAST, Calif. – Caltrans reports that the following road projects will be taking place around the North Coast during the coming week.

Included are Mendocino County projects that may impact Lake County commuters.

Caltrans will suspend most work on Northern California highways from Saturday, Nov. 10, through Monday, Nov. 12, in observance of the Veterans Day holiday. However, in the case of unforeseen circumstances, it may be necessary for Caltrans maintenance forces to respond to emergency situations.

LAKE COUNTY

Highway 20

– Emergency repair work from Mendocino County Line to Scott Valley Road will begin Tuesday, Nov. 13. One-way traffic control will be in effect 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Motorists should anticipate 15-minute delays.

– Drainage work from Le Trianon Resort to Howard Street will begin Monday, Nov. 12. One-way traffic control will be in effect from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. weeknights. Motorists should anticipate 10-minute delays.

– Pavement work from Long Valley Road to Colusa County Line will begin Tuesday, Nov. 13. One-way traffic control will be in effect 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Motorists should anticipate 10-minute delays.

Highway 29

– Drainage work from Cole Creek Road to Lucerne Undercrossing will begin Tuesday, Nov. 13. One-way traffic control will be in effect from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. weeknights. Motorists should anticipate 10-minute delays.

Highway 175

– Fire damage repair work near Mathews Road will continue. One-way traffic control will be in effect from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays. Motorists should anticipate five-minute delays.

– Fire damage repair work from 1 mile west of Buckman Drive to Grants Quarry will require a Full Road Closure on Tuesday, Nov. 13, from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Motorists should find an alternate route.

– Lake County Sanitation has been granted a Caltrans Encroachment Permit for sewer work from Socrates Mine Road to Dry Creek Road. One-way traffic control will be in effect from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. weekdays. Motorists should anticipate five-minute delays.

MENDOCINO COUNTY

Highway 1

– Geotechnical work from Navarro Ridge Road to Albion will continue. One-way traffic control will be in effect from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays. Motorists should anticipate 20-minute delays.

– Storm damage repair work at Blue Slide Gulch will continue. One-way traffic control will be in effect from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Motorists should anticipate five-minute delays.

– Bridge work at the South Fork of the Eel River Bridge began on Friday, Nov. 9. One-way traffic control will be in effect from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. weekdays. Motorists should anticipate 15-minute delays.

Highway 20

– Bridge work from Access Road to Road 260 will begin on Tuesday, Nov. 13. One-way traffic control will be in effect from 5 p.m. to 7 a.m. weeknights. Motorists should anticipate five-minute delays.

Highway 101

– Emergency work from Reeves Canyon Road to Ridgewood Ranch Road will continue. Lane closures will be in effect 24 hours a day. Motorists should anticipate 10-minute delays.

– Bridge work from Bear Pen Undercrossing to Route 271, Reynolds will continue. One-way traffic control will be in effect 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. weekdays. Motorists should anticipate minor traffic slowdowns.

– Bridge work from Stanley Creek Road Undercrossing to South Fork Eel River Bridge will continue. One-way traffic control will be in effect 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. weekdays. Motorists should anticipate minor traffic slowdowns.

– Emergency work at Piercy will continue. Lane closures will be in effect. Motorists should anticipate minor traffic slowdowns.

Highway 162

– Wall work at The Middle Way will continue. One-way traffic control with temporary stop signs will be in effect. Motorists should anticipate 15-minute delays.

Highway 175

– Emergency work at Lake County Line will continue. One-way traffic control will be in effect 24 hours a day. Motorists should anticipate 10-minute delays.

Highway 253

– Pavement work from the Route 128 junction in Booneville to the Highway 101 junction will continue. One-way traffic control will be in effect. Motorists should anticipate 10-minute delays.

Highway 271

– Construction work at McCoy Creek Bridge will continue. One-way traffic control will be in 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. weeknights. Motorists should anticipate 10-minute delays.

The Caltrans Traffic Operations Office has reviewed each project and determined that individual project delays are expected to be less than the statewide policy maximum of 30 minutes, unless noted otherwise above.
