First 5 Lake Commission meets Feb. 13

LAKEPORT, Calif. – The First 5 Lake Commission will meet on Wednesday, Feb. 13.

The meeting will begin at 2 p.m. at the Department of Social Services, 14092 Lakeshore Drive.

The commission reported that it has added a new commissioner, Dr. Derrick Barnes, so all nine member seats are now filled.

Items on the agenda include introductions and Children’s Champion nominations, approval of the Jan. 9 regular meeting minutes and the December financial reports, executive director’s report and discussion, approval of the Ad Hoc Committee’s Recommendation regarding a request for proposals for 2019-2022 grants and next steps, a program update on Easter Seals and the Early Learning Center, approval of a funding request from the Lake County Childcare Planning Council for Early Childhood Educator Awards, commissioners’ reports, and public comments and announcements.

In addition to Dr. Barnes, the commission includes Chair Brock Falkenberg, Vice Chair Carly Swatosh, Pam Klier, Tina Scott, Crystal Markytan, Susan Jen, Denise Pomeroy and Allison Panella.
