CLEARLAKE, Calif. – The Lake County Democratic Party invites you to “Second Saturday Cinema” on Sept. 14.

It will begin at 2 p.m. at the Methodist Community Church, 14521 Pearl Ave. in Clearlake.

All are welcome.

The group will debut with a critically acclaimed film, “Leave No Trace,” starring Ben Foster and Thomasin Harcourt McKenzie.

The story: A dad and his teenage daughter have lived off the grid for years in the forests of Portland, Oregon. When their idyllic life is shattered, both are put into social services. After clashing with their new surroundings, both set off on a harrowing journey back to their wild homeland. Powerful and poignant, the story raises issues of choice, safety, parenting, loyalty and hope.

Enjoy some snacks, camaraderie and a spirited discussion. Here’s an opportunity to learn, engage and advocate.

The Programs Committee of the Lake County Democratic is sponsoring this event.
