UPPER LAKE, Calif. – The community is invited to a celebration of life for Dr. Patricia Nelson, DVM, on Sunday, Aug. 17.

A service will be held from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., with a potluck and the sharing of stories taking place from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Upper Lake County Park, 575 East Highway 20.

Nelson's dedicated practice of veterinary medicine served Lake County's animals and pet owners for nearly 50 years.

The service will begin promptly at 10 a.m. with a short eulogy by Assistant Pastor Gary Lewis of the United Methodist Church.

Dr. Pat’s cousin, Carolyn Holt, is traveling from Esparto to speak. John H. Tomkins will be singing “Amazing Grace.”

After the ceremony, there will be an opportunity for members of the community to share what Dr. Pat Nelson did for their animals and pets.

In Dr. Nelson's Honor, donations will be gladly accepted for SPCA, Wasson Memorial Veterinary Clinic (for wildlife rescue) and Lake County Animal Care & Control.

If you have a pet, please bring photos to share; however, the event organizers ask that guests leave their pets and alcoholic beverages at home.
