Carlé Chronicle: Preparing for open house, welcomes for new students

carleheader

Paige Finley presented her portfolio on Thursday, April 18.

She has been a longtime student at Carlé, but still will be graduating a year early because of all of her hard work. Paige has always excelled here at Carlé and we want to really congratulate her. We also want to let her know how much we’ve appreciated having her here.

A big welcome goes out to our newest student Paige Johnson. Even though it’s fairly close to the end of the year, we are always happy to see new students come to Carlé. Hopefully we’ll see Paige stay with us through the year to come until her graduation! Welcome to Carlé, Paige.

Just another reminder that open house will be May 9. This is a very important night for many and we would like as many people there as possible. It will be a potluck so bring some food to share and any student that attends will receive credit.

This next week will be the end of the fifth grade period. This means two things: Students have one more week to get as many things as possible turned in and finished to get better grades on their report cards.

The other thing this means is that, after the fifth grading period is over, we only have one more grading period left. Each grading period is six weeks long, so we have about seven weeks left until the school year is over. If that doesn’t kick you into overdrive, I don’t know what will.

Let’s all pull together and make these a great last few weeks of school.

Student Rosie Wright-Trejo has been a tremendous help to us at Carlé. We’ve mentioned before earlier this year that she is a big help to our secretary, Barbara Dye. Rosie has helped by filling in for her so that Barbara can get a moments rest and maybe have some lunch too. We wanted to show how grateful we are for her gracious attitude towards others and Barbara. Thank you Rosie! You’ve been a big help!

CHILY winner this week was Blossom Neidenbach. Her item of choice was a bubble wand.

Student of the Week this week was Esparanza Roberts. Esparanza came to us at Carlé this year, and ever since she has joined us she’s been a hard working, wonderful student. Congratulations Esparanza!

Senior plaques have begun! All student designers have chose graduates and have started their design process. Currently, it appears there will be around a total of 25 plaques all together, one for each graduate.

Thanks go out to new Carlé students Aaron Beecher and Michael Lanigan. Both of these students have taken over the computer building here at Carlé. They pull apart and put together computers donated to us by very generous outside sources.

After they fix them, they format them and install an open source operating system. Finally these computers are handed out to students and families in need of one of their own. Keep up the great work, guys!

Jesse Harrell is a student at Carlé Continuation High School in Lower Lake, Calif.
