Carlé Chronicle: Excited, saddened as end of year approaches

carleheader

This week will be the beginning of the sixth and final grade period of the school year.

To my fellow students: Despite what you may think, everything you do still matters, so with that being said try and make sure that you focus as hard as you can because even a little extra effort can go a long way. All of us are very excited and somewhat saddened by the end of the year getting so close.

STAR testing is starting next week! A nervous time it can be, it’s also a great opportunity to show what you’ve learned and hopefully do very well.

In the past Carlé  has always done well with STAR testing so we all anticipate that we’ll be keeping that tradition this year. All Carlé students, please do the best you can because not only will it reflect well on your school, but also on yourself.

Prom is getting closer and closer as the days go by and a lot of us are very excited to attend. The fee for attendance will be $6 each ticket and you must preorder them from Barbara Dye, our Carlé secretary, in her office.

The theme for the prom will be a black and white ball, so bring a semi-formal appropriate outfit. Activities taking place will be the usual dancing, music and food, but also fun games hosted by some of the Carlé  teachers.

The ticket designers were media students Nura Brown, Junior Garcia and Summer Gunn, so thank you to all of them for making such great tickets.

The silver level movie was this last Friday, April 26, and the following is a list of the students who were eligible to attend: Jade Beatty, Jay Brown, Lukas Carlson, Charlie Clark, Kasandra Colwell, Isaac Dominguez, Nathan Frigge, Junior Garcia, Emilio Gonzales, Ray Green, Josh Kennedy, Timothy McGuire, Kobi Minard, James Mora, Blossom Neidenbach, Camari Onwuasoeze, Dane Pearson, Roxie Purdum-White, Chenoa Schmidt, Lucas Stickel, Danielle Stennet, Sarah Terry, Lance Thurston, Steven Tracy and Rosie Wright-Trejo. Congratulations, everyone!

Special thanks goes out to teacher Alan Siegel, along with students Lance Thurston, James Mora and Lukas Carlson for setting up and running the silver level movie.

Student of the week this week was Jacob Davis. Jacob has really made the effort to become a successful student and leader here at Carlé. We are all very proud of him.

Jesse Harrell attends Carlé Continuation High School in Lower Lake, Calif.
