Carl

Carlé would like to recognize all of the gold levels students from the fifth grading period here at Carlé. These students work above and beyond what is expected of them and for that, Carlé would love to thank: Jeff Agius, Chris Clark, Chantelle Claemons, Stefani Conner, Leana Efestione, Morganna Grantham, Alex Huff, Taylor Lopez, William McAlister, Chris McCarley, Tosha Mckeehan, Daniel Miller, Faron Moran, Dylan Sheldon, Ben Sheridan, Paul Silsby, Kaitlyn Sliger, Amanda Tchamourian, Aaron Trammell and Ashley Wiebusch. We hope all of you students keep up the wonderful work.

Student of the week this week was Morganna Grantham. She was nominated for her hard work and dedication to prom and her efforts in her classes each and every day. Her attendance is great and she always has high grades. We hope you enjoy your certificate to DJ's Pizza and hope you will keep up the good work and dedication to this school.

Carlé High School's Prom was on May 9 and what an amazing success it was.

Carlé student Dylan Sheldon said, “Carlé High School's Prom had more class than its schedule.”

It was a well-put together prom with its tropical/casino theme. Most students didn't think the idea would work out but it was obvious by the looks of the faces that they were amazed the second they walked through the door.

“Prom was definitely fun. Everyone seemed to have a good time, and my boyfriend and I had an amazing time,” said Morganna Grantham, another happy Carlé student at prom.

Different classrooms had different events for Carlé. The culinary classroom had many different delicious entrees. Teacher Alan Siegel had brought every student a Subway sandwich for prom; no other school would do that except for Carlé.

We like to thank Alan for the delicious sandwiches, which were gone by the first two hours. We would also like to thank Marrissa Tagle and Leana Efestione for putting together the other dishes for prom. Steve's room was filled with tables and decorations for students to eat their food in if they pleased.

Verna's room was the casino room. There, students played blackjack and poker. Each winning student got a ticket that they could save up for a prize. The prizes ranged from candles to a DVD player. Thank you Carlé for providing the prizes; they were well appreciated by the students.

We would like to thank our own Gary and Brian Claiche for running the exciting card games throughout the whole event. Alan's room had Guitar Hero and foosball for students who just wanted to play games. The library was held as the dance room with cool glowing walls and balloons for the students to dance in. We would like to thank Andre Ari, a graduate from Carlé, who came out to DJ the prom for Carlé. Carlé would have not been moving without you.

We would like to congratulate prom king, queen, prince and princess. Marrissa Tagle and Sam Ayala had won prom queen and king. Leana Efestione and Chris Clark had won prince and princess. Each won of these titles were well deserved for these students. The girls had won tiaras and flowers while

the guys had won burger king crowns and burgers. We hope they will always remember this wonderful night for them.

Student James Newman said, “Treat yourself, don't cheat yourself. That's what I did at prom.”

It's an obvious statement to say that this prom was one of the best proms Carlé has ever had. We would like to thank SBE for putting such hard work into prom, without their help this wouldn't have been possible.

So many people dedicated themselves to prom that we would like to thank. Thanks go out to Pat Howell, Barbara Dye, Gina Layne, Alicia Plata, Jen Patterson, Will Buck and Debbie Dye for all they

did to make prom a success.

We would like to thank Morganna Grantham, Zen Carroll and Amanda Tchamourian for making the two beautiful backdrops that Verna Rogers used for portraits at prom. More than 400 pictures were taken and every student who attended received a free CD from the school based enterprise with a ticket (designed by Brooke Robb) as mementos of their experience.

Amanda Tchamourian is a student at Carlé High School in Lower Lake.
