THE PURPOSE OF THIS HEARING IS SOLELY TO RECEIVE WRITTEN PROTESTS. NO TESTIMONY ABOUT THE SUBSTANCE OF THE APPLICATION WILL BE ALLOWED OR CONSIDERED
City of Lakeport: annexation of 136.78 acres more or less (Lake LAFCo File No 2019-0006)
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Lake Local Agency Formation Commission (LAFCo) will hold a public protest hearing on May 6th, 2022 at the Lakeport City Hall at 11:00 AM 225 Park St. Lakeport, California to receive written protest against the annexation of approximately 136.78 acres of territory located south of the existing Lakeport city limits, adjacent to South Main Street and Soda Bay Road and east of State Route 29. .

Owners of property and voters residing within the detachment territory may now file written protests against this proposal.
Proceedings for this proposal were initiated by the City of Lakeport on August 13, 2019. The Lake Local Agency Formation Commission (LAFCo) approved the proposal subject to a protest proceeding. This annexation may be effective upon recordation of the Certificate of Completion. The resolution approving this action and map are accessible from LAFCo website www.lakelafco.org
The hearing will BEGIN at 11:00 a. m. on May 6th, 2022 , at the Lakeport City Council Chambers located at 225 Park St. Lakeport, California. The hearing will END at 11:15 a.m.
To be counted, protests must be in writing. They must be submitted before the close of the hearing, and they must be made by owners of land within the area and (or) by registered voters residing within the subject detachment territory. A form is printed below for the convenience of anyone wishing to file a protest; it may be copied or filled in, detached, and returned to the LAFCo office.
Protests may be mailed to Lake LAFCo, P.O. Box 2694, Granite Bay, CA 95746 or delivered to the LAFCo Executive Officer or his designee at the protest hearing. Each protest must clearly state whether it is made by a landowner or a registered voter or submitted for both and must include the name and address of the person submitting it with an original signature. Landowner protests must also include a street address or Assessor’s parcel number identifying the location of the property in question. A registered voter’s protest must show the voter’s name and residence address as it appears on the affidavit of registration.
The value of protests received and not withdrawn before the hearing concludes will be determined within 30 days following the hearing in accordance with Government Code Section 57075. For more information, please call the LAFCo office at (707) 592-7528.
