The original plan was to go to the Sacramento Wildlife Refuge, but word that a rare falcated duck has been seen at the CNWR has prompted field trip organizers to switch locations.
This duck is a Russian duck and considered an extreme rarity to be seen here. So, here is your chance to add a very interesting bird to your life list.
Carpooling is available. Participants leave Lower Lake around 8 a.m. and meet on the east end of the Main Street to park in a place that won’t interfere with merchants in town.
Don’t miss this great opportunity to view a wide variety of migrating wildfowl with expert Audubon birders, as well as a possible sighting of the falcated duck.
