Local author to speak at Feb. 2 Unitarian service

KELSEYVILLE, Calif. – The Unitarian Universalist Community of Lake County service on Sunday, Feb. 2, will be presented by local author JoAnn Saccato, MA.  

The service begins at 11 a.m. at the church located at First and Main streets in Kelseyville. Guests are encouraged to attend.

Saccato has recently authored her first book, “Companioning the Sacred Journey: A Guide to Creating a Compassionate Container for Your Spiritual Practice.”

In addition to sharing about the process of writing the book, Saccato will present some of the practical techniques for bringing wakefulness and compassion to our lives.

Saccato, a native of Lake County, will explore the cornerstones of journaling, affirming and mindfulness.  

Worship Committee Chairperson Linda Guebert notes that these activities, “interconnect with and support the UU principles and tenets.”

Unitarian Universalism affirms that inspiration and meaning may be found in many sources, including the natural world, personal experience, history and religious tradition.
