Veterans to speak at Unitarian Universalist Memorial Day service

KELSEYVILLE, Calif. – The Memorial Day service at the Unitarian Universalist Community of Lake County will feature a presentation by two World War II veteran members of the congregation, titled “Together Again: After 70 Years.”

The service will take place on Sunday, May 25.

It begins at 11 a.m. at the church, located at 3810 Main St. in Kelseyville. Guests are welcome.

The two veterans, Rev. Charles Harlow and Rev. Don Dyne, will discuss their experiences as participants in the North Coast Honor Flight last October.

Forty-eight local veterans visited the World War II Monument and other war monuments in Washington, D.C.

Also speaking at the service is Jacque Bradley, president of the Rotary Club of South Ukiah, the major sponsor of the Honor Flight.

Since 2005, more than 100,000 World War II and Korea veterans from around the country have been sent at no expense to Washington on Honor Flights.
