UPPER LAKE, Calif. – The Upper Lake United Methodist Church invites the community to join its congregation for two services on Christmas Eve, Sunday, Dec. 24.

At 11 a.m. the church will hold a family-friendly, uplifting, regular worship service along with a unique candlelight service at 7 p.m.

The Christmas Eve evening service will incorporate the scenes of Christmas that are all around us.

Meditations and scripture will be read throughout the service by Rev. C. R. Green, Rae Eby-Carl, Toni James, Jeff and Jeannie Markham, and Gary and Darla Lewis, as we move from the announcement made by the angel Gabriel to Mary, the mother of Jesus that she was going to bear a son, to that Holy Night when Jesus was born.

In addition to the Christian carols in the program, which are suitable for all denominations, some of the songs that will be sung by those in attendance or by members of the choir are: “Silver Bells,”, “I’ll Be Home for Christmas,” “Do You Hear What I Hear” and “All I Want for Christmas Is My Two Front Teeth.”

There will be a good will offering basket as you exit the sanctuary; all money collected will go to the Shoes for School Children Program.

Upper Lake Community United Methodist Church is located at 604 Clover Valley Road, Upper Lake. All are welcome.
