UPPER LAKE, Calif. – The Upper Lake Community United Methodist Church, under the direction of Rev. C. R. Green, will usher in Holy Week this Sunday, March 25, with a Palm Sunday Service at 11 a.m.

The church Chancel choir will process in with palms, commemorating when Jesus rode into Jerusalem on a donkey and was greeted by a joyful crowd and recapitulates the beginning and the end of Christ’s final week in Jerusalem.

They will then move from a triumphant procession of hope to conclude with a different kind of procession, a forced march with a crucifix.

On Thursday, March 29, at 6 p.m. the church will hold its annual Maundy Thursday worship service as they pay tribute to Jesus’ Last Supper. This service will be held in the Fellowship Hall and will include Holy Communion.

Easter Sunday will begin with a sunrise service to be held in the church sanctuary at 6:45 a.m. Breakfast will be served following the service.

The traditional Easter service and flowering of the cross will commence at 11 a.m. The awesome voices of the Chancel choir, under the direction of Nick Reid and accompanied by pianist Michelle Wells, will be heard throughout the service and Holy Communion will be served.

The Upper Lake Community United Methodist Church is located at 604 Clover Valley Road (corner of Clover Valley Road and First Street) in the town of Upper Lake.
