NORTHERN CALIFORNIA – Lake County's two new representatives in the California Legislature took their oaths of office on Monday.
Bill Dodd, the new representative for the Fourth Assembly District, and Mike McGuire, who will represent the Second District in the state Senate, were sworn in at the noon ceremonies in the State Capitol.
Gov. Jerry Brown was in attendance as new and reelected legislators were seated for the new term in the Assembly and Senate chambers.
Dodd formerly served as a member of the Napa County Board of Supervisors, while McGuire was a Sonoma County supervisor.
Dodd succeeds Mariko Yamada, who was termed out. McGuire takes over the seat previously held by Noreen Evans, who retired from office.
The Fourth Assembly District covers all of Lake and Napa counties, most of Yolo County, and portions of Colusa, Solano and Sonoma counties.
