LAKEPORT, Calif. – A top county planner has been named Lakeport's new Community Development Department director.
City staff introduced Kevin Ingram to the Lakeport Planning Commission on Wednesday evening.
Ingram, 33, currently serves as a principal planner in the Lake County Community Development Department.
He'll start work with the city on Dec. 29.
Ingram began working for the county in May of 2005 as a code enforcement officer and worked his way up to principal planner, a job he's held for a year and a half.
In his new job, he'll oversee a department that also includes three full-time staffers – Planning Services Manager Andrew Britton, building official Tom Carlton and department secretary Linda Sobieraj – and part-time housing specialist Trisha Franco.
He succeeds longtime city Community Development Director Richard Knoll, who retired at the end of 2012.
The Community Development director position has been kept open and many of its duties covered by Britton in the interim. Knoll has worked on special projects for the city on a part-time basis since retiring.
A Petaluma native, Ingram has a bachelor's degree from the University of Arizona and a master's degree in public administration from Sonoma State University.
He and wife, Jenni, have two small boys, who he said keep him busy.
