LAKEPORT, Calif. – The Lake County Planning Commission is scheduled to hold a series of public hearings this fall as part of crafting updated marijuana cultivation regulations to recommend to the Board of Supervisors.
During the hearings, the planning commission will offer recommendations that will be crafted into the draft ordinance that will update Article 72 – passed as Measure N in 2014 – in the county zoning ordinance, and be presented to the supervisors in January, according to county planning staff.
The schedule of meetings and discussion topics follows.
Thursday, Sept. 22, 11 a.m.
• General plan amendments.
• Mapping of outdoor cannabis cultivation exclusionary regions (areas where outdoor cultivation will be prohibited).
• Grandfather provision for cultivators currently compliant with Article 72.
Thursday, Oct. 13, 11 a.m.
• Outdoor cannabis cultivation overlay district regulations.
• Patient and qualified caregiver development standards.
• Mixed light and indoor cultivation standards.
• Nursery development standards.
Thursday, Nov. 17, 9:05 a.m.
• Dispensary development standards.
• Manufacturing, distribution, testing, transportation development standards.
• Outdoor cannabis cultivation overlay district boundaries.
Thursday, Dec. 15, 9:05 a.m.
• Draft ordinance.
