LAKEPORT, Calif. – The Lakeport Economic Development Advisory Committee this week is due to discuss a city strategic plan, a new community policing program and updates to an equestrian park plan.
The committee, or LEDAC, will meet from 7:30 to 9 a.m. Wednesday, May 10, at Lakeport City Hall, 225 Park St.
The meeting is open to the public.
On the agenda is the review of the completed draft of the Lakeport Economic Development Plan for 2017 to 2022.
Also on Wednesday, Lakeport Police Chief Brad Rasmussen will introduce to the group Officer Joe Medici, who is taking on the role of the business, neighborhood and community outreach officer, part of a program the department has just established.
In other business, Westside Community Park Committee Chair Dennis Rollins will give a presentation on plans for the proposed equestrian park which the Lakeport City Council has approved moving from the Westside Community Park to the City of Lakeport Municipal Sewer District property on Highway 175.
There also will updates on the Lakefront Revitalization Plan, the Carnegie Library, flood conditions and impacts, the city’s hotel development feasibility study and other city projects.
LEDAC advocates for a strong and positive Lakeport business community and acts as a conduit between the city and the community for communicating the goals, activities and progress of Lakeport’s economic and business programs.
The membership includes Shock, Vice Chair Christine Hutt, Secretary Terre Logsdon and members Denise Combs, Bill Eaton, George Feola, Melissa Fulton, Pam Harpster, George Linn, Taira St. John and Panette Talia. Lakeport Community Development Director Kevin Ingram and City Manager Margaret Silveira serve as ex-officio committee members.
