CLEARLAKE, Calif. – Allison Olson, professional advocate for Republican policies at the California State Capitol, will give an exciting start to the new year with an update on current legislation in California at the Lake County Republican Women, Federated, or LCRWF.

The Wednesday, Feb. 14, luncheon meeting will be at Howard's Grotto, 14732 Lakeshore Drive in Clearlake.

Olson joined the California Federation of Republican Women, or CFRW, as a legislative advocate in 2009.

She tracks and analyzes California state legislation, lobbies on behalf of the CFRW, and keeps the members of the federation educated and informed on what is happening in Sacramento.

She is a graduate of the University of California, Davis with a degree in political science. She was awarded a fellowship with the Foundation for Defense of Democracies from April 2007 to May 2008. During that time, Olson studied in Israel and Washington D.C. with counter-terror experts.

She remains actively involved in defending Israel here through Stand with Us, a nonprofit organization that supports Israel through international education.

Attendees should arrive by 11:15 a.m., as call to order is at 11:30 a.m., followed by specific agenda, lunch and featured speaker.

All registered Republicans, both men and women, are welcome at LCRWF meetings, whether to hear a specific speaker or an interest in becoming a member. Many men join as associate members. LCRWF meet monthly February through November.

LCRWF is a local chapter of California Republican Women Federated established in 1925, and also retains membership in National Federation of Republican Women with headquarters in Alexandria, Virginia. There are more than 1,600 local clubs in the 50 states and in the U.S. Territories.
