4-H group to hold March 14 pizza fundraiser

LOWER LAKE, Calif. – Join the Lake County 4-H Citizenship and Leadership project for an all-you-can-eat pizza fundraiser on Wednesday, March 14.

The dinner will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. at DJ’s Pizza, 16135 Main St. in Lower Lake.

The cost is $8 per person.

The fundraiser benefits the project and an 11-day learning excursion to Washington, DC, Philadelphia, New York and Boston.

The group consists of eight delegates ages 13 to 17 from Hidden Valley Lake, Lower Lake and Spring Valley, who will be traveling with two adult volunteers.

On this journey, they’re hoping to see the nation’s capital, Smithsonian museums, the Bunker Hill Monument, and the USS Constitution. They will also learn about the government and United States history.

This amazing group has been involved in 4-H for many years, many since kindergarten. This excursion is the result of many years of working together; the delegation has been meeting biweekly to study the places they will visit and plan the trip.

Upon returning from their travels, group members will concentrate their efforts on completing a service learning project for the community.
