Kelseyville, Calif.: On Sunday, May 1, from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Shade Canyon School will host its second annual May Faire at Peace & Plenty Farm, 4550 Soda Bay Road in Kelseyville.
A beloved tradition at many Waldorf schools, May Faire celebrates Spring with old-fashioned fun including flower crown making, May pole ribbon dances, strawberry shortcake, and games (ideal for ages 4-9). The May Faire Raffle will raise funds for Shade Canyon School’s facility development. If unable to attend the faire, people may enter the raffle by stopping by the Peace & Plenty Farm Stand to purchase tickets, available now.
Shade Canyon is a Waldorf-inspired school that will open in Kelseyville in September of 2023 and be open to all Lake County students, tuition-free. The school’s curriculum is designed to educate students’ head, heart, and hands through hands-on learning, integrated subjects, outdoor exploration, movement, storytelling, practical skills, and the arts.
May Faire admission is free. Attendees are welcome to bring a picnic lunch and wear pastel colors to add to the springtime beauty. For event details and free admission tickets, visit https://www.shadecanyon.org/building-community.
