Final draft of Lake County Local Hazard Mitigation Plan Update released

LAKE COUNTY, Calif. – The final draft of the Lake County Hazard Mitigation Plan 2018 Update has been posted online.

The document can be found at the Lake County Sheriff's Web site, http://www.lakesheriff.com/About/OES/Plans.htm.

The plan will be submitted to the Governor's Office of Emergency Services and Federal Emergency Management Agency next week.

Upon those agencies’ approval, the plan will be adopted by the Lake County Disaster Council and the Board of Supervisors.

The plan is a required element of the county's ability to remain eligible for grants from FEMA. It is required to be updated every five years.
