LAKEPORT, Calif. – The Lake County History Roundtable will be discussing the final years of the Vietnam War (1969 to 1975) on Monday, March 5.
The meeting will start at 6:15 p.m., in the multipurpose room of Country Air Properties at 460 S. Main St., Lakeport.
Local historian Zane Jensen has prepared a multimedia presentation of that includes video clips, animated maps and timetables to show at the meeting.
Jensen, a local history teacher, is a founding member of the round table, which was formed in 2010.
Jensen will review the military and political situation during the final four years of the conflict to Paris Peace Accord that ended US involvement.
In addition, a brief review of the story behind “The Girl in the Photograph,” will be done, getting to the background and followup regarding the Pulitzer Prize-winning photograph by photographer, Huynh Cong “Nick” Ut.
All ages are welcome, and there is no charge, though donations for a scholarship are accepted.
