Forest releases Comprehensive River Management Plan

MENDOCINO NATIONAL FOREST, Calif. – The Mendocino National Forest has released its draft decision notice and finding of no significant impact for the Black Butte and Cold Creek Wild and Scenic River Comprehensive River Management Plan for comment and objections.

Objections on the proposed action will be accepted for 45 calendar days following publication in the newspaper of record, the Chico ER in Chico.

This 45-day period is intended to provide an opportunity to file an objection to the project prior to the responsible official making a decision.

Pursuant to 36 CFR 218 objection regulations, objections will be accepted only from persons or organizations who have submitted written comments on this proposal during scoping or other opportunity for public comment.

Issues raised in objections must be based on previously submitted timely, specific written comments regarding the proposed project unless based on new information arising after previous opportunities to comment.

Objections must meet the minimum content requirements of an objection as set forth in 36 CFR 218,8(d) and incorporation of documents by reference is permitted only as provided for at 36 CFR 218.8(b).

The Forest Service will accept objections on this proposal for 45 days following the publication of this legal notice.

The publication date in the Chico ER is the exclusive means for calculating the objection period for this proposal.

Those wishing to object should not rely upon dates or timeframe information provided by any other source.

All comments, including source information, will become part of the public record, and therefore will be subject to release upon request.
