KELSEYVILLE, Calif. – Lake Family Resource Center recently launched California HOPE, a community-based outreach program offering support to Lake County residents affected by the Mendocino Complex fires.

Trained outreach workers for the grant funded project will provide free and anonymous disaster related information and assistance, resource linkage, education and emotional support.

“Lake County has been hit hard these past years,” explained Lake FRC Executive Director and California HOPE Program Director Lisa Morrow. “There isn’t anyone in our county that hasn’t been affected by the fires. We want to offer our community the best support we can to find our way successfully through to full recovery.”

JoAnn Saccato, team lead for the project, added, “Our team will be out in the community helping connect individuals and families to other people and agencies who can help them in their recovery process. We’ll also provide education and support to individuals, groups and organizations wishing to better understand the phases of disaster recovery, how disasters affect individuals, families and communities, and simple actions we can take to support natural resilience.”

Services through California HOPE are free and anonymous. Community members and organizations are encouraged to reach out for support, education and assistance.
