Caltrans plans major roadwork through Dec. 6

NORTH COAST, Calif. – Caltrans reports that the following road projects will be taking place around the North Coast during the coming week.

Included are Mendocino County projects that may impact Lake County commuters.

Caltrans District 1 will suspend most work on Northern California highways through Sunday, Nov. 25, in observance of Thanksgiving. However, in the case of unforeseen circumstances, it may be necessary for Caltrans Maintenance forces to respond to emergency situations.

LAKE COUNTY

Highway 20

– Emergency repair work from Mendocino County Line to Scott Valley Road will continue. One-way traffic control will be in effect weekdays. Motorists should anticipate up to 15-minute delays.

Highway 29

– Construction work at Hartmann Road will begin on Sunday, December 2. One-way traffic control will be in effect weeknights 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. Motorists should anticipate 10-minute delays.

Highway 175

– Fire Damage repair work near Mathews Road will continue. One-way traffic control will be in effect from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. weekdays. Motorists should anticipate 10-minute delays.

– Lake County Sanitation has been granted a Caltrans Encroachment Permit for sewer work from Socrates Mine Road to Dry Creek Road. One-way traffic control will be in effect from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. weekdays. Motorists should anticipate five-minute delays.

MENDOCINO COUNTY

Highway 1

– Guardrail work from Ocean View Drive to Sunset Drive will occur on Friday, Nov. 30. One-way traffic control will be in effect from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Motorists should anticipate 15-minute delays.

– Guardrail work 1 mile north of the junction of Highway 128 East will occur on Friday, Nov. 30. One-way traffic control will be in effect from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Motorists should anticipate 15-minute delays.

– Geotechnical work from Navarro Ridge Road to Albion will continue. One-way traffic control will be in effect from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays. Motorists should anticipate 20-minute delays.

– Emergency work at Blue Slide Gulch will continue. One-way traffic control will be in effect. Motorists should anticipate five-minute delays.

Highway 20

– Bridge work from North Capella Overcrossing to Redwood Valley Undercrossing will begin on Wednesday, Dec. 5. One-way traffic control will be in effect from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. weeknights. Motorists should anticipate five-minute delays.

– Emergency work from Road 260 to Old Lake County Road will begin Monday, Dec. 3. One-way traffic control will be in effect from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays. Motorists should anticipate 15-minute delays.

Highway 101

– Guardrail work at Hensley Creek Undercrossing will occur on Friday, Nov. 30. Lane closures will be in effect from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Motorists should anticipate minor traffic slowdowns.

– Emergency work from Reeves Canyon Road to Ridgewood Ranch Road will continue. One-way traffic control will be in effect. Motorists should anticipate 10-minute delays.

– Bridge work from Bear Pen Undercrossing to Route 271-Reynolds will begin on Monday, Dec. 3. Lane closures will be in effect from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. weekdays. Motorists should anticipate minor traffic slowdowns.

– Bridge work from Stanley Creek Road Undercrossing to South Fork Eel River Bridge will begin on Monday, Dec. 3. Lane closures will be in effect from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. weekdays. Motorists should anticipate minor traffic slowdowns.

– Emergency work at Piercy will continue. Lane closures will be in effect. Motorists should anticipate minor traffic slowdowns.

Highway 162

– Wall work at The Middle Way will continue. One-way traffic control with temporary stop signs will be in effect. Motorists should anticipate 15-minute delays.

Highway 175

– Family Tree has been granted a Caltrans Encroachment Permit for tree work from McDowell Street to 1.7 miles west Motorcycle Park entrance beginning Monday, Dec. 3. One-way traffic control will be in effect from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays. Motorists should anticipate five-minute delays.

– Emergency work at Lake County Line will continue. One-way traffic control will be in effect 24 hours a day. Motorists should anticipate 10-minute delays.

Highway 253

– Construction work from Route 128 Boonville to State Street will begin on Friday, Nov. 30. One-way traffic control will be in effect weekdays 7a.m. to 6 p.m. Motorists should anticipate 10-minute delays.

– PG&E has been granted a Caltrans Encroachment Permit for utility work at 1.5 miles east of Butler Ranch will occur on Sunday, Dec. 2. One-way traffic control will be in effect from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Motorists should anticipate five-minute delays.

Highway 271

– PG&E has been granted a Caltrans Encroachment Permit for utility work from Scandia to State Maintenance Yard will occur on Friday, Nov. 30. One-way traffic control will be in effect from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Motorists should anticipate five-minute delays.

– Bridge work at McCoy Creek Bridge will begin on Friday, Nov. 30. One-way traffic control will be in effect from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. weekdays. Motorists should anticipate 10-minute delays.

The Caltrans Traffic Operations Office has reviewed each project and determined that individual project delays are expected to be less than the statewide policy maximum of 30 minutes, unless noted otherwise above.
