Caltrans plans major roadwork through Dec. 20

NORTH COAST, Calif. – Caltrans reports that the following road projects will be taking place around the North Coast during the coming week.

Included are Mendocino County projects that may impact Lake County commuters.

LAKE COUNTY

Highway 20

– Fire damage repair work from Witter Springs Road to Mendocino County Line will begin on Monday, Dec. 17. One-way traffic control will be in effect 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays. Motorists should anticipate up to 10-minute delays.

– Fire damage repair work from Long Valley Road to Route 53 south will occur on Friday, Dec. 14. Lane closures will be in effect 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Motorists should anticipate minor traffic slowdowns.

Highway 53

– Fire damage repair work at Ogulin Canyon Road will occur on Friday, Dec. 14. Lane closures will be in effect 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays. Motorists should anticipate minor traffic slowdowns.

Highway 175

– Fire Damage repair work near Mathews Road will continue. One-way traffic control will be in effect from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. weekdays. Motorists should anticipate 10-minute delays.

– Lake County Sanitation has been granted a Caltrans Encroachment Permit for sewer work from Socrates Mine Road to Dry Creek Road. One-way traffic control will be in effect from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. weekdays. Motorists should anticipate five-minute delays.

MENDOCINO COUNTY

Highway 1

– AT&T has been granted a Caltrans Encroachment for utility work from Road 8067 to Fish Rock Road beginning on Monday, Dec. 17. One-way traffic control will be in effect from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Motorists should anticipate five-minute delays.

– Geotechnical work from Albion Ridge Road to Albion will continue. One-way traffic control will be in effect from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays. Motorists should anticipate 20-minute delays.

– Emergency work at Blue Slide Gulch will continue. One-way traffic control will be in effect. Motorists should anticipate five-minute delays.

– Bridge work at South Fork of Eel River will begin on Friday, Dec. 14. One-way traffic control will be in effect from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. weekdays. Motorists should anticipate 15-minute delays.

Highway 20

– Pavement work at Potter Road will occur on Friday, Dec. 14. One-way traffic control will be in effect from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Motorists should anticipate five-minute delays. LC#C20FB

– Emergency work from Road 260 to Old Lake County Road will end Friday, Dec. 14. One-way traffic control will be in effect from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Motorists should anticipate 10-minute delays.

Highway 101

– Emergency work from Forsythe Creek Bridge to Route 20 East will occur on Friday, Dec. 14. Lanes closures will be in effect from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Motorists should anticipate minor traffic slowdowns.

– Emergency work from Reeves Canyon Road to Ridgewood Ranch Road will continue. One-way traffic control will be in effect. Motorists should anticipate 10-minute delays.

– Bridge work from Stanley Creek Road Undercrossing to South Fork Eel River Bridge will continue. Lane closures will be in effect from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. weekdays. Motorists should anticipate minor traffic slowdowns.

– Emergency work at Piercy will continue. Lane closures will be in effect. Motorists should anticipate minor traffic slowdowns.

Highway 162

– Wall work at The Middle Way will continue. One-way traffic control with temporary stop signs will be in effect. Motorists should anticipate 15-minute delays.

Highway 175

– Emergency work at Lake County Line will continue. One-way traffic control will be in effect 24 hours a day. Motorists should anticipate 10-minute delays.

Highway 253

– PG&E has been granted a Caltrans Encroachment Permit for utility work at .67 miles east of Butler Ranch to occur on Friday, Dec. 14. One-way traffic control will be in effect from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Motorists should anticipate five-minute delays.

Highway 271

– Bridge work at McCoy Creek Bridge will continue. One-way traffic control will be in effect from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. weekdays. Motorists should anticipate 10-minute delays.

The Caltrans Traffic Operations Office has reviewed each project and determined that individual project delays are expected to be less than the statewide policy maximum of 30 minutes, unless noted otherwise above.
