Lakeport officials respond to hydraulic fluid spill

LAKEPORT, Calif. – The city of Lakeport reported that several roadways within the north portion of the incorporated area of the city of Lakeport, including Lakeshore Boulevard and North High Street from Lange to Sixteenth, are closed due to the spill of approximately 35 gallons of hydraulic fluid around 7 a.m. Wednesday.
Other impacted streets are open only to residents.
City of Lakeport staffers are actively employing various mitigation measures to reduce impacts related to fluid runoff into Clear Lake and hazards to impacted roadways.
Motorists are encouraged to utilize alternate roadways within this area. Lakeport schools may be accessed via Hillcrest Drive from Hartley Street.
Be advised that roadways in this area are narrow and traverse a residential neighborhood. Motorists are urged to drive with extra caution within this area.
Lakeport staff is working diligently to clean up the spill and open roadways as soon as possible.
