Konocti Quilters club donates funds for books, makes quilts for those in need

LAKE COUNTY, Calif. – In memory of member Marilyn Wallace, the Konocti Quilters group has donated funds to purchase two quilting books for the Lake County Library.

With the Friends of the Library "Adopt a Book" program, a label is put in the front book stating who the book is in honor/memory of and who donated it.

Wallace was a member of Konocti Quilters for many years and donated many "Heart to Heart" charity quilts. This is one way Konocti Quilters supports the community, making quilts to donate to the District Attorney’s Office for abused clients or women's shelter.

Also, Konocti Quilters' members are supporting the Lake County Fair by signing in entries at the Little Theater building, helping the judges, setting up the displays, checking out the entries and the take down of displays.

There will be a display of some of the charity quilts that are ready to donate to the District Attorney’s Office.

Konocti Quilters meets the fourth Wednesday of each month, September through May, at 10 a.m. upstairs at Umpqua Bank on Eleventh Street in Lakeport. They welcome community members to join them.
