LAKE COUNTY, Calif. – Stars of the Lake County will be held on Saturday, April 24.

Nominations are being accepted for the 23rd annual Stars of Lake County Community Awards.

Due to the pandemic, organizers are moving forward to plan a virtual event, with details to follow.

A full list of all Stars recipients is available on the Lake County Chamber website.

Nominations can be submitted by anyone and please remember that details are especially important, especially the contact information for your nominee.

The chamber notifies every nominee when we receive their nomination. Forms and category information can be found at www.lakecochamber.com with the deadline for nominations on Wednesday, March 31, by close of business, or postmarked by that date.

There are 22 categories covering a broad spectrum of all our communities, businesses, volunteers, and organizations. All of us work and/or volunteer with very deserving businesses, people and organizations that deserve to be recognized for the work they do to make life in Lake County special.

There is no limit to the number of nominations that can be submitted for each category. Nominations have been received to date for the following categories: Woman of the Year; Arts Award Professional; Humanitarian/Marla Ruzicka Memorial Award; Local Hero of the Year; New Business of the Year; Organization of the Year (Non-profit/paid staff) and Small Business of the Year.

Stars would not be possible without community sponsorships and we have many who have supported this program since its inception.

The Stars Selection Committee will be reviewing all nominations and will be meeting April 14 to cast their secret ballot votes.

The Committee includes 12 individuals from various areas of Lake County.
