Lake County’s Tire Amnesty Program completed

LAKE COUNTY, Calif. — The Lake County Public Services Department frequently offers a tire amnesty program that provides for free disposal of waste tires.

This program is funded through a grant from California's Department of Resources Recycling and Recovery, or CalRecycle.

The most recent tire amnesty round has ended as a result of grant funding being completely spent. Lake County did a great job by successfully recycling more than 14,000 tires since July 1, 2019.

As soon as a future tire amnesty program is available again the county will post information to its website and Facebook page.

As an alternative, tires can always be taken to the Lake County Waste Solutions Transfer Station at 230 Soda Bay Road in Lakeport or the South Lake Refuse and Recycling Center at 16015 Davis Avenue in Clearlake at any time for a small fee.

Please contact the Lake County Public Services Department at 707-262-1618, Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., or visit the department online for more information.
