LAKEPORT – Public Services Director Kim K. Clymire announced that county staff and Mt. Konocti volunteers will continue their series of meetings to assist in the development of policies and procedures, and resource and fire management plans for the use of Mt. Konocti.

The final in this series of meetings is scheduled to take place on Wednesday, Aug. 12, and Wednesday, Aug. 26, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., at the Lake County Courthouse, 255 N. Forbes St., Lakeport, in the Board of Supervisors Chambers.

Initial meetings have already taken place in Lakeport in March and in Lower Lake in June.

The creation of these policies and procedures will be used to create a master plan.

Restrictions that come with the sale of the property, that county staff supports, include day use only, except by special arrangements, no motorized vehicles, except by authorized use, preservation and conservation.

The agenda for the two upcoming meetings will be the same as previous meetings, with more specific meetings focused on issues such as wildlife and rare and sensitive plant species scheduled for the fall and next spring.
