LAKE COUNTY, Calif. — Marilyn Parker, age 98, passed away on Feb. 25, 2023.

She was born on Sept. 19, 1924, in El Centro, California, to William and Audrey Starner and was raised in Holtville, California.

She married the love of her life, Donald Parker, in 1944, and they resided in Don’s hometown of Alameda, California, for more than 30 years.

During that time, she dearly loved the 20 years she spent as director of Kiddie Kampus Nursery School.

They moved to San Bernardino, California, in 1975. Upon Don’s retirement, they spent many years playing golf and bridge and traveling throughout the country. They finally settled in Arizona City, Arizona.

After Don’s death in 2005, she remained in Arizona until 2019, when she moved to Clearlake Oaks, California.

Marilyn was preceded in death by her husband, Don; her parents, William and Audrey; her sister, Joy; and her brother, Bill.

She is survived by her three sons, Greig (Norene) of Rio Vista, California; Mike (Barbara) of Clearlake Oaks; and Robert of San Leandro, California.

She is also survived by seven grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

Marilyn was a kind and giving person with a strong and independent spirit. She was dearly loved by her family and friends and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
