Margery Phyllis Lockwood Jones, beloved wife of William S. Jones of Lucerne, passed away very quietly at home December 31, 2012 surrounded by her husband, loving son, Larry (Mieko) Jones, and her beloved Poodle, Kala.

Born March 12, 1917 in Fort Morgan, Colo., Margery graduated from high school in Alhambra, Calif.  She moved with her parents and two sisters, now deceased, to Winnemucca, Nev., and while working at the high school there, met and fell in love with Bill. They married on July 15, 1934 and spent 78 years together.

Their first son, William Willard, passed away at two weeks of age. Their daughter Dorothy lives at Penney Farms with her husband, Fred. Larry and Mieko live in Lucerne where they have cared for Marge and Bill for the past five years.

Margery, or Marge as she was known to everyone, and Bill have spent the past 40-plus years in Lake County where Bill was a real estate broker with Noble Realty until his retirement.  

Marge was actively involved with the American Legion in Lucerne and was a regular attendee at the former Lakeshore Baptist Church in Lucerne.

Margery leaves behind six grandsons, 16 great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. But, she also leaves behind countless friends and relatives who saw her as one of the sweetest, most caring people one could ever hope to meet.

Memorial gifts in her name will be greatly received by the Lucerne Alpine Senior Center, PO Box 937, Lucerne CA 95458.

A gathering of friends is planned at the Lucerne Senior Center at the end of the Saturday breakfast in February.

Leroy Francis Miller, 97, was born in Altoona, Penn., Dec. 17, 1915, one of nine children of Alfred Miller and Florence Banks Miller.  

He died at his Clearlake, Calif., home on Dec. 20, 2012, of natural causes.

Leroy graduated from Altoon High School in 1934 and may have been the last survivor of his large class.  

He joined the Army in 1935 and served in Panama and Hawaii before returning to his hometown in 1938. He worked as a tire recapper and married Kathryn McGraw in 1941.

During World War II he served as a first lieutenant in the National Guard and operated his occupationally exempted tire business.  

He moved to California in 1949 and resided in Fremont where he worked as a printing pressman.  

Following their move to Clearlake in 1973, he and Kathryn managed several motels in the area. He lived independently following Kathryn's death in 1989.

Leroy was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Kristine Miller Barbarigos in November 2012.

He is survived by one sibling, Richard (Belle) Miller of Marysville, Wash.; sons, Norman (Earlene) Miller of Carson City, Nev., and Robert (Laura) Miller of Santa Rosa, Calif.; grandchildren, Suzanne Miller (Cantel) McCurdy of Las Vegas, Nev., and Matthew Miller of San Jose, Calif.; great-grandchildren, Brett, Ryan and Reed Barbarigos and Tyler and Alexandria McCurdy; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Sally Silveira of Lakeport, Calif., passed away Dec. 29, 2012, after a brief illness. She was 73.

Sally was born in Oakland on Aug. 28, 1939. She attended Oakland Technical High School and graduated from Pleasant Hill High School in 1957.

Sally last worked for Hospice Services of Lake County for 12 years.  

She enjoyed horseback riding, Bunco parties, dancing and traveling, and was a member of the Clearlake Horseman's Association.

Sally is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, Bob Silveira; son, Marc of Danville; sister, Nancy Martucci of Concord; three wonderful grandchildren, Casie, Matthew, and Michael; and one great-grandchild, Caidence.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Doris Sevey; and her beloved daughter, Cindy Turner, who passed away three years ago.

Visitation will be held at Chapel of the Lakes Mortuary, 1625 N. High St., Lakeport,  from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 3, 2013.

Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Jan. 4, at Hartley Cemetery, 2552 Hill Road East, Lakeport.  

Immediately following will be a celebration of Sally’s life at the Lakeport Elk's Lodge, 3775 Lakeshore Blvd., Lakeport.

Jeannie Bynum passed away at her Upper Lake, Calif., home Dec. 19, 2012.

She was born October 5, 1946, in Stockton, Calif., and grew up in Dos Palos, Calif.

She graduated from Dos Palos High in 1964 and moved to Lake County in 1976.

Jeannie was a bowler, a Little League coach and an avid NASCAR fan.

For the last 30 plus years she was a bookkeeper at Lake County grocery stores.

Jeannie is survived by her children, Joann (Hart) Gall of Lakeport, Calif., and Adam Hunt of Turlock, Calif.; stepchildren, Richard Bynum and Traci Bingham; grandchildren, Erika Skye, Nicole Bynum, Chyvon Fannon, Travis Bynum, Tommy Strother, Jenna Gall Munos and Annie Gall; six great-grandchildren, with the most recent being Haley Munos.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Tom Bynum, and stepson, Ron Bynum.

A memorial service will be held at Chapel of the Lakes Mortuary Saturday, Jan. 19, 2013, at 1 p.m.

LAKEPORT, Calif. – A memorial service for Edgar Hill, who died Dec. 2, will be held Saturday, Jan. 12.

The service, which begins at 10:30 a.m., will take place at United Christian Parish, 745 N. Brush St., Lakeport.

Our beloved Timothy Lance Malicay Sr., age 34, passed away suddenly Dec. 30, 2012.

He was born March 3, 1978 in Santa Rosa.

Tim is preceded in death by his father, Stanley Thompson Malicay.

He is survived by his children, Eliana, Timothy Jr., Ethan and Jocelyn; his mother, Eleanor; sisters, Angie and Sherri; brothers, Trevor, Adrien and Austin; many uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Tim was known for his athleticism, funny charm, and love for his children and family.

Tim is coming home Thursday, Jan. 3. Graveside services will be at Robinson Rancheria Cemetery, Mockingbird Lane, Upper Lake, 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 5.
