LAKE COUNTY, Calif. – Edward “Ed” Lyn Wyman was born on March 4, 1945, and set sail for higher horizons on November 12, 2013.

He is survived by his wife Linda of almost 21 years, six children and numerous grandchildren.

Ed served his country honorably in the Navy as Chief Petty Officer-Boatswain's Mate for more than 28 years.

Funeral Service will be held at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 19, at Chapel of the Lakes Mortuary in Lakeport.

CLEARLAKE, Calif. – Jan Michaelene Holaday, born March 4, 1952, in Longview, Wash., passed away in Clearlake on Nov. 13, 2013.

Jan is survived by her dear friend and companion, Elsie Sinnott, and sisters, Glenna Holaday, Charlene McCarthy and Lynette Yoshikawa.

No services will be held at the request of the family.

LAKE COUNTY, Calif. – Richard Joseph Chaboya was born in Saratoga, Calif., on Nov. 14, 1930, and left this earth cherished by his daughter and grandchildren on Oct. 18, 2013.

Richard, the youngest of four children, grew up in the Saratoga area and attended Los Gatos High School.

He met the love of his life, Vivian Fraser, and was married in 1951.

Shortly after getting married he was drafted into the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was stationed in Yokohama, Japan for two years, from 1951 to 1953. He was an infantry gunner whose job was to man a .50-caliber anti-aircraft weapon.

Once he returned home from the war he began working for PG&G in San Francisco for 15 years and then another 12 years for the city of San Francisco as a Civil Service Plumber. Richard was part of the Local 38 Plumber and Pipefitters Union.

During this time Richard and Vivian welcomed their daughter Suzanne Cecelia Chaboya on April 29, 1953.

He retired in 1980 and moved to Lakeport, Calif., with his daughter. After relocating, Richard worked for 20 years as a caretaker and gardener for different homes and estates. He worked many years at Via Del Lago in Lakeport, and also maintained two beautiful estates in New Castle and Healdsburg. He moved back to Lake County to be near his family in 2008.

Richard lived a full life and his granddaughters meant the world to him.

He is survived by his daughter, Suzanne and her husband, Larry Henry; his two granddaughters, Daniele Zimmerman and Jamie Lynn Henry; nieces, Lolli Ortolan, Pinky Hurney and family; and his loyal friend JerryMcAllister and his dog Stubby.

A celebration of life will be held in early spring in the Los Gatos area with his extended family. Masses also are being said in his honor at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Lakeport.

LAKEPORT, Calif. – William Lee “Billy” Woodward of Lakeport passed away Tuesday, Nov. 12, 2013, at the young age of 56, surrounded by family in his home.

Bill was diagnosed with cancer in January 2013 and immediately began chemo and radiation treatments.

He remained courageous and positive throughout his battle, but ultimately succumbed to his disease.

Bill was born and raised in Lakeport and graduated Clear Lake High School in 1975.

He was a mason by trade creating multiple works of art throughout California.

Bill enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping, and was always down for a good game of cards with friends and family.

Bill is survived by his son, Joseph (Christoph) Woodward-Jenkinson of Portland, Ore.; brother, Joe (Erin) Woodward of Lakeport; brother, Robert Woodward of Chicago, Ill.; as well as several nieces and nephews, Jess, Quincy, Chris andSuzanna.

He also leaves behind an extremely special friend, Janice Russell. His son would like to thank her for the love and guidance she provided to him and his father throughout this difficult year.

Bill was proceeded in death by his youngest sonn Daniel Woodward, who passed away Sept. 9, 2012. In addition to his son he is also preceded in death by his parents, Russ and Bobbie Woodward.

Bill, being the number guy he was chose to leave this earth on the unique date of 11/12/13.

LAKE COUNTY, Calif. – Kenneth Crane entered into eternal rest Nov. 2, 2013.

He was born in Daly City, Calif., in 1919 and raised in San Francisco.

Ken was a World War II veteran.

He was a welder for 20 years, then changed his profession to gardening, which was evident just by looking at the beautiful landscaping around his home.

He is survived by daughter, Gail Alden; son, Stephen Crane (Louann); grandchildren, Lisa Alden, Jeff Alden (Amy) and Danette Weller (Steve); great-grandchildren, Levi and Ainsley Weller, Kaylie, Madisyn and Grayson Alden.

He was preceded in death by wife, Audrey; and son-in-law, Jack Alden.

Services will be held at Clearlake Oaks Community Methodist Church, 12487 The Plaza, Clearlake Oaks, at 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 16.

Johnny Carney
Sept. 23, 1925 – Nov. 9, 2013

LAKE COUNTY, Calif. – Johnny Carney passed away peacefully on Nov. 9, after a short illness at the age of 88. He was surrounded by family.

Johnny was born in White Plains, New York, but spent most of his childhood in Ireland. He was a World War II Army veteran.

Many residents of Kelseyville will remember Johnny and his two border collies as he walked down Main Street, picking up litter as part of the local adopt-a-highway program.

His cheerful and positive attitude toward life touched everyone he met. Many local businesses, as well as strangers, will tell you that Johnny would greet them with a smile, hand them a flower and give them a kind word. He was like that all of his life and will be missed by many.

Johnny is survived by his five daughters, Shannon, (Rick) Gunier of Lower Lake; Timaree (Bill) Zickuhr of Kennewick, Wash.; Kerry (Paul) Flores of Long Beach; Casey Carney of Kelseyville; and Colleen Brola of Lakeport.

Per his request, there will be no services.
