UPPER LAKE – The Lodge at Blue Lakes is hosting the first ever Kamp K9.


Kamp K9 is a fun-filled weekend of activities for you and your dog.


The initial Kamp K9 will be held the weekend of Nov. 6 through 8.


You will arrive to a cheese and wine reception and the no-host Saketini Bar will be open. Dinner will be a campfire mixer with hot dog, hamburgers and the ever popular, s'mores.


Saturday will begin with a continental breakfast and then the dogs and their owners, will head out for a hike and swim at Lake Mendocino. Box lunches will be provided.


Saturday afternoon activities will include kayaking and swimming with your dogs. The evening will round out with a sunset cruise and a barbecue chicken dinner. The weekend will finish up with a Champagne brunch and a final chance to spend time with other dog lovers.


This all-inclusive weekend starts at $249, double occupancy. Space is limited so sign up today to spend an unforgettable weekend with us.

MIDDLETOWN – Expressive Motion Dance Studio will host a Halloween haunted house this week.

The fun will take place from noon to 8 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 30, and Saturday, Oct. 31.

The suggested donation is $2.

The nonprofit dance school is located at 21720 Highway 29 in Middletown.

CLEARLAKE – Orchard Park Assisted Living and Memory Care Community will host Halloween festivities this Saturday, Oct. 31.


The free community event, with special emphasis on children up to age 12, begins at 3 p.m.


It will feature a ghost and goblin parade, costume contest, prizes and refreshments.

HIDDEN VALLEY LAKE – Hidden Valley Pet Palace will host its second annual pet costume party on Halloween this Saturday, Oct. 31.


The event will begin at 1 p.m.


Prizes will be awarded for the best costumes. Everyone is welcome.

LOWER LAKE – Merchants are hosting the “Lower Lake Safe Halloween” event this Saturday, Oct. 31.


There will be fun for the whole family, including goodies and prizes on top of free fun and entertainment, plus a magic show, from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.


The event was created to give parents a safe Halloween option. Parents can have a place to take their children and feel better knowing the goodies and entertainment comes from established trusted businesses.


This is the second year of the event – which is, in part, a thank you to the community – and organizers are expecting a larger turnout than last year.

LAKEPORT – A safe and sane Halloween experience will be hosted in downtown Lakeport on Halloween this week.

The Lakeport Main Street Association will host the special downtown trick or treat event from 3 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 31.

Visit the businesses displaying orange and black balloons. Play games at C&G Enterprises and enjoy hot chocolate and cookies at Angelina's Bakery.

There will be candy, goodies and a costume contest in three age groups – 6 years old and under, 7 to 12, and 13 years and older.

Prizes will be awarded in front of Museum Square at 5 p.m.
