Carl

May 10, the date of prom night is approaching, and the committee is working hard to prepare.

Unfortunately, many of our students can't afford dresses or suits to wear to the dance, so we are asking if anyone would like to donate their used dress or suit. It would be highly appreciated by all of the students who wouldn't be able to attend otherwise.

The economic classes of Carlé have been playing a role-playing game of economic survival. In this game, students would try to survive in a fictional world without going bankrupt. Students competed against one another in making the most money by the end of the game.

The three students with the most money received plaques made by Pegasus Productions. In third came Andre Ari; in second came Brendan Melton; and in first place (mutilating all competition) was the ever so modest Atlee Erickson.

The community service on April 19 at Rodman Slough was a great success. All of the students who served there were cheery and efficient, and the job was finished faster than expected.

On April 24 we had our gold level trip. All gold level students had an enormous paintball war as their reward for being exceptional students. Everyone enjoyed it of course. The students who participated raved about what a wonderful time they had.

Travis Conine, a former student of the week, described the trip as “Epik and amazing!” (Travis insisted that “Epik” be spelled with a “k.”

Daniel Miller was selected to be our student of the week. He is a great student with exceptional grades and a good attitude. He is the kind of student we want here at Carlé High School, and that is why the staff has selected him as student of the week. Congratulations Daniel!

Earth Day was last week, and if you decided to plant a tree or saved a baby penguin then good for you! You did better than the millions of people who just said “Happy Earth Day!” Now you have about 350 more days until you have to care about the Earth again! I am already ordering a coat made of baby seal pelts and bald eagle feathers. I figure I can dump some red paint on it next Earth Day.

Hope you enjoyed this week's Chronicle. Have a great week!

Atlee Erickson is a junior at Carlé High School.
