LAKE COUNTY, Calif. — The Lake County Winegrape Commission is offering a new scholarship program — “Future of Agriculture” — open to Lake County graduating high school seniors who will attend college in the 2021-2022 academic year to pursue a degree in agriculture.

The Lake County Winegrape Commission will award one $5,000 scholarship to assist a graduating high school student who will study viticulture, enology, plant pathology, crop science, sustainable agriculture, agribusiness, or a related field from a four-year university.

The scholarship may be used to offset tuition and school supplies.

More information — including eligibility and how to apply — can be found in the application on the commission’s website.

Applications must be received by Friday, May 21.

Please encourage high school seniors who are interested in a career in agriculture to apply.
