Carl

We would like to take the time here in our final Carlé Chronicle of the year to present to you the graduating class of 2009: Jeff Agius, Sam Ayala, Kelli Babb, Justin Duncan, Mia Dupard, Atlee Erickson, Katie Flannery, Kim Fuller, Shawna Griffith, Alex Huff, Marquice Lamar, Courtney Lawson, Bryan Layne, Taylor Lopez, Monica Mcgaffey, Alex Meek, Kristina Micheletti, Daniel Miller, Kayla Mincey, Faron Moran, Ino Moreno, Emily Newton, Jenna Ortega, Jah-Brela Parker, Jamila Parker, Bonny Passley, Jessica Rickert, Sarah Roath, Paige Salvante, Kaitlyn Schneider, Ben Sheridan, Marrissa Tagle, Cheyenne Taylor, Amanda Tchmourian, Michael Tellez, Kelly Trask and Marlene

Williams.

We would to publicly thank a person who has been here for Carlé when we needed it most. This person is respected highly by the staff and students and is recognized by all of our teen parents. This person is our very own Valerie Lucchesi. She is the director of Carlé High School's kid center and will be greatly missed.

Verna Rogers said, “Wow, Valerie is plain amazing.”

Principal Ed Zander said, “She is a great person and we will miss her dearly.”

This past week Carlé students who attended at a 90 percent or better attendance all year got to attend a special field trip. The students: Joshua Borba, Leana Eifestioni, Ashley Wiebush, Aaron Trammell, John Watson, Anthony Henson, Morgana Grantham, Chantelle Clemmons, Broke Robb, Gieneva Hudson, Marquice Lamar and Nate Oberdorf were taken to the Pine Summit pool in Cobb for a

fun day.

Teacher Steve Hamann and Pat Howell were the organizers of this event.

“The trip was fun but I got cold fast. The food was good,” said student Nate Oberdorf.

As a student who attended the event myself I would like to say that the trip was amazing – thanks Steve, and thank you Pat.

Also I would like to thank Anthony Henson in assisting in the cooking of all the hamburgers. It seems over this year we have seen a lot of kindness and gratitude, but the person who made it so easy this year was in fact Ed Zander.

Ed came here from Pomo elementary and brought great smiles and a true can-do attitude to our school. Ed has been known to have a huge sense of humor and he is by far the best replacement for Bill MacDougall possible.

“I think that Zander was the best to fill Bill's shoes,” said student Paul Silsby.

Teacher Alan Siegel said, “Zander is an amazing person and as a staff member we will be looking forward to many more year's with him.”

This year Carlé's media room stepped up by creating all 38 plaques that would be presented to the 2009 seniors on grad night. We would also like to congratulate Chris Clark in his performance of an original song for Valerie this week.

This week's final student of the week is Gloria Rojas. Gloria came at the beginning of the year and has been a non-stop worker. Angie Siegel said, “This young lady is a super hard worker. She has amazing attendance and is kind to others.”

This year at graduation scholarships were handed out to 12 students who led us in community service. Students Faron Moran, Jamila Parker, Justin Duncan, Marissa Tagle, Kelly Trask, Alexandra Huff, Kayla Mincey, Alex Meek, Paige Salvante, Marquice Lamar, Kristina Micheletti received $250 scholarships. Student Bonny Passley received a $500 scholarship for her efforts at Carlé High School. The scholarships would not be possible if it wasn't for the Lower Lake Action Group.

So as this school year is over I would like to thank our very own secretary Barbara Dye. Every year this young lady puts all her efforts and more into our school to make it possible. Also, we would like to thank Gina Layne for taking her time and money to make beautiful flower leis for our graduating

seniors.

This completes another successful year here at Carlé High School. We look forward to the great thing our current juniors will bring to us as the leaders of the school next year.

Joshua Borba is a student at Carlé High School in Lower Lake.
