CLEARLAKE – The Clearlake Church of the Nazarene hosts another VeggieTales premiere event Friday, Jan. 30, with a showing of “Abe and the Amazing Promise” to be released nationally on DVD, Feb. 7, from Big Idea Inc.

Nazarene Children’s Theater will feature the Veggie-spun Bible classic that tells the story of Abraham and Sarah and their wait for a promised child.

Featuring a lesson in patience, the DVD presentation showcases nationally syndicated radio host "Delilah" as the voice of Sarah.

“It is our honor to offer faith-based family entertainment to the children and parents of Clearlake and Lake County,” said Nazarene Pastor, Richard Bean. “The program is sponsored by our Children’s Movie Ministry which began in late November with the Lake County premiere of 'The Pirates Who Don’t Do Anything.' Valuable lessons can be learned while we entertain.”

Once again festivities will include activities and prizes for the kids focused on the theme of the presentation.

In “Abe and the Amazing Promise,” Bob the Tomato tries to bring the Bible story of Abraham and Sarah and their wait for a promised son to life, but when spitting camels and a film crew of zany French peas get involved, everyone's patience is tested!

Will Bob pull everything together in time to teach a lesson? Whether they're waiting on a promise from God or cookies from mom, kids will learn that while being patient is never easy, the reward is always worth the wait!

Showtime is 6 p.m. Friday, Jan. 30, in the church sanctuary, 15917 Olympic Drive, at Highway 53, in Clearlake. Admission is free; children must be accompanied by an adult.
