LAKEPORT, Calif. – After a short summer break, Ladies of the Lakeport Women’s Civic Club are happy to be getting under way for their 98th year of community service.
Already, plans are well under way for the annual Holiday Craft Fair to be held at the Kelseyville Presbyterian Church on Saturday, Nov. 3.
More than 20 tables have been reserved by a wide assortment of crafters who are looking forward to being at the event from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
An amazing array of baked goods will also be available for your shopping pleasure and in the kitchen Cheryl Robbins will be serving up fresh coffee and muffins in the morning and homemade tortellini soup, chili and hot dogs to warm up your afternoon.
Also in the planning stages is the group’s 26th annual Mad Hatters Ball. This year the theme will be Rock n Roll 1950s.
The date and venue haven’t yet been set but stay tuned; you don’t want to miss this opportunity to gather with so many of Lake County’s finest as they come together to enjoy an outstanding meal, a magnificent selection of silent auction items and the rousing revelry of a live auction, all aimed at providing funds for local organizations in need as well as two $1,000 vocational scholarships for local high school seniors.
Some 60 women attend our monthly meetings and are excited about seeing each other at the Riviera Country Club Restaurant on the first Friday of every month.
Kevin is preparing a chicken stir fry for them at the club’s meeting on Friday, Oct. 5.
If you would like to join them, the gathering begins at 11 a.m. with the meeting getting started at 11:30 a.m. followed by a delicious meal and an interesting speaker.
This month, Carly Swatosh from the Lake County Office of Education will be with them.
If you would like to join them they will need to hear from you no later than Oct. 1.
To make your reservation please call President Clare Stenge at 707-277-0972.
